Lone Soldier Inspiration: Yonghao from China

Yonghao is Bayit Brigade’s newest tenant in Nahariyah. Having made Aliyah from Northern China, Yonghao has a unique story to tell.

While studying abroad in Australia, Yonghao lived with a Jewish host family. It was there he learned about Judaism and fell in love with the culture. After converting in 2014, Yonghao was subject to heavy antisemitism. He even had to lie to his professor to take off school for Yom Kippur. His experience shaped his decision to pause his studies and join the IDF.

Yonghao served in the tanks brigade and is now studying to be a mechanical engineer. His dream is to further develop Iron Dome capabilities to be more sustainable and efficient. His courage is an inspiration, and we are proud he is part of the BB family.
